A refresher for the returning champion, and a quick guide for the beginner. Knowing the Texas hold’em rules can make all the difference in your game and the winnings you take home. Even a long timer may need a refresher every now and then. Take a moment and read below to be on your way to enjoying and understanding the game.

In the game Texas Hold ‘Em you use a standard 52 card deck. After the cards are shuffled or as with Internet Texas Hold’em you make your start by placing the predetermined amount of money into the pot, which is also called, posting the blinds. This occurs before any cards being dealt.

Often the first player (the player directly beside the dealer on the left) puts half the minimum in the pot and then all other players put in the full minimum bet. By doing this, there is always money to play for in each hand.

When the initial bet is made, next each player receives two cards face down. These cards are known as the hole cards. After looking at your hole cards, betting will commence again. At this point, you can call (which means you put in exactly what you must to stay in the game), you can raise the bet, or you can fold and try again next time.

The dealer will then discard their top-card (this is called burning) and place three cards face up in the middle of the table. Those cards are community cards. Keep in mind any combination of your hole cards and the community cards can be used to make the best five-card poker hand. Placing the community card is called the flop.

After the flop, the bets begin again. Then there is another card placed in the community pile face up. That card is called the turn. After the turn another round of betting occurs. Then the fifth and final card is placed in the community pile. This card is called the river.

After the river card the final round of betting occurs. By the Texas hold’em rules everyone still in the game reveals his or her hand. The person with the best hand wins.

These are the general Texas hold’em rules. Texas Hold’em poker is a fabulous game of chance and strategy. Take your chances and have a great time playing. On thing that is great about Internet Texas Hold’em is the others players can’t read you to try to find out if you’re bluffing. Online or off, Texas Hold’em poker is a great combination of luck and strategy.

Celebrating New Year’s Eve in Spain

Like most festivals in Spain, New Year´s Eve, known as Noche Vieja is usually a family affair which takes place at home. Until midnight people tend to stay at home and on the stroke of midnight it is traditional to eat 12 grapes, one on each stroke of the clock to bring good luck for the New Year. This tradition began when after a particularly big grape harvest the king of Spain decided to give everybody grapes to eat on New Year’s Eve.

It is traditional to listen to the clock from Puerta del Sol in Madrid, usually via the television. Even young people won’t go out with their friends until they have seen the New Year in with their families. Throughout the country there are street parties and special nights in hotels and clubs everywhere. There is a growing trend towards celebrating the New Year in restaurants or clubs where the meal and all-night entertainment are provided. Take note that you would probably need to book in advance for this as they need to prepare for the numbers

Those who live in Madrid congregate in the main square (Puerta del Sol in Madrid) and eat the grapes along with a celebratory bottle of cava then head out into the night until after sunrise. Having said that, according to a Spanish friend in Madrid, this tends to be more popular with the tourists than the actual madrilenos!

For people visiting Spain with the intention of celebrating New Year, make sure that you either bring a crowd of friends and family with you or have some waiting here for you or it could feel quite uneventful. Don’t be surprised to walk through some towns on New Year’s Eve and discover that all the bars are closed as the staff are at home celebrating with their families.

Estepona:

If you head for the Plaza del Reloj at about eleven thirty, you will find that the council provide party hats, streamers, balloons etc, not to mention the twelve grapes to see the New Year in together in the square. I might add that this is all free, as is the impressive fireworks display that follows.

Benalmadena:

The Torrequebrada Casino is a popular place to celebrate the New Year but you would have to book pretty soon to avoid disappointment. At the Plaza Mezqita in Arroyo de la Miel, the town hall arranges entertainment with live bands etc. They have two celebrations, the Spanish and then at 1am they all sing and welcome in the New Year for the English.

Wherever you decide to spend New Year in Spain and whatever you decide to do, don’t forget to wear the customary red underwear which must be bought for you by someone else!

Bachelorette Party Ideas That Won’t Leave You In The Doghouse

Planning a bachelorette party should center around the personality of the bachelorette. Is she fun and outgoing or is she more quiet and prefer not to be in the spotlight? Also, with the traditional bachelorette party, would she be comfortable with the more risqué, or would it be offensive? These are all important questions, which will determine the success of your bachelorette party.

You can choose activities centered at home, or out in the community. Community gathering places include the traditional restaurant and bars. Increasingly popular are creative outings such as spas, sporting events, camping, and amusement parks.

Activity Ideas

·Bachelor and bachelorette parties are associated with strip clubs and limo rides. There are also many creative “PG-13″ ideas to make it fun for all!

·Here are some activity ideas:

·Roast the bachelorette. Include all kinds of funny memories and embarrassing videos or photos!

·Is the bachelorette known for any particular hobby or activity? How about an all-inclusive sport such as bowling or ice-skating? It may have better participation than if the bachelorette is known for sky diving or extreme sports!

·Gambling on a winner? Choose a casino night for an easy to put together bachelorette party.

·Is a happy marriage in the cards? Use a fortune telling theme complete with palm readings and crystal balls.

·Pamper the bachelorette. You can pamper her with a day at the spa complete with manicures, pedicures, and massages. It can take place at the spa itself, or create a pajama party for in-home pampering.

·A western theme can be used to “wrangle” the bachelorette into marriage. Decorate with “wanted” posters of the bachelor or bachelorette. Give a lasso as a prop to the bachelorette as a metaphor for “roping” her man to the alter!

·Create a time capsule to be opened in five years. Include some of her cherished pre-marriage items and a questionnaire about what she thinks marriage will be like. For example, “Who (bachelor or bachelorette) will there be “more of to love (weight gain)” in five years?” Make a video of the party to include in her time capsule.

·Board games or card game championships

·Hold a couples party and play the Newlywed Game to see who’s most in tune with each other.

·Murder mystery party with a honeymooning script. Purchase murder mystery scripts or use a local murder mystery company to host the event.

·Hire a belly dancer or salsa dancer to give lessons and give the bachelorette a little spice for her honeymoon. Everyone will have a good laugh as they try out their new skills!

I hope these bachelorette party ideas helped spark some fun ideas for your upcoming celebration!
